Regeneration
Restore land and livelihoods through natural building.
Restoring, nurturing, and empowering natural landscapes and communities.
In Hindi and Sanskrit, ‘Srot’ means ‘Source’.
For us, SROT is: Source of Regeneration, Opportunities, and Transformation.
We are a Source of efforts
SROT is a collective initiative that weaves architecture, education, and ecology into a shared fabric of resilience. We collaborate with artisans, workers, designers and students to revive indigenous knowledge, re-imagine infrastructure, and shape spaces that emerge from the land and root themselves in the lives of those who inhabit them.
We envision a world where built environments are not imposed, but emerge, organically, ecologically, and equitably. Where settlements grow in conversation with landscapes, and every design gives back to land, life, and nature.
“SROT exists to restore, nurture, and empower natural landscapes and communities.”
We build with what the earth gives us, mud, lime, stone, wood, not chemicals.
We design as part of ecosystems, not just for humans, but with all living systems in mind.
We believe education is a right, not a privilege. Free workshops, open labs, inclusive studios and hands-on learning for all.
Every skill is a legacy. We honor every artisan and every fingerprint on the wall.
Communities are not beneficiaries; they are collaborators, mentors, and co-designers.
To live sustainably is to live in a way that nourishes life itself, our bodies, our communities, and the environment.
We are a not-for-profit Section 8 company dedicated to advancing regenerative architecture and equitable design. Every clause in our foundation reflects a promise, to heal, include, and sustain.
Promoting architecture that grows from the earth, natural, site-sourced, and cyclical.
Documenting and reviving indigenous building systems and vernacular wisdom.
Establishing multidisciplinary centres that blend craft, ecology, and innovation.
Empowering artisans, craftspeople, and rural youth through skill-based opportunities.
Co-creating with communities through participatory and empathetic design approaches.
Advocating for low-carbon, culturally rooted, climate-sensitive construction practices.

Writing for websites is both simple and complex. On the one hand, all you need to do is say what you mean and in your words.
Are you thinking of keywords you should rank for? Are you including links in your text to additional information?
There’s a theory that people read in an F-shaped pattern, and that this should influence how you structure content on your website.

We are a small collective that began with two people who came together with a shared intention to question how we build, and who we build for. What happens when you step away from the architect's table and sit with those who have built with bare hands, for generations? What if design was not just for cities or clients, but for the land, for the unheard, for the unseen?
SROT is our shared vow: to walk slower, think deeper, and root wider.

Hi, I'm a design urbanist whose work rethinks the way cities understand nature and infrastructure. I do not see cities as grids, but as living ecologies, where the human and more-than-human coexist and influence one another. In my design approach, empathy is an essential tool. We must learn to listen to seasons, to people, to landscapes, and to the often-unmapped voices that shape how we inhabit the world. My work moves across disciplines, focusing on communities living within ecological thresholds, rebuilding relationships between people, place, and the systems that sustain them.

I design learning journeys that hold space for artisans, students, and researchers to meet as equals. My practice stretches between construction sites and classrooms where we test regenerative details, document traditional craft, and mentor young builders. I love translating complex systems into simple rituals so that every person who touches a project experiences the dignity, care, and curiosity that brought it to life.

Namaste, I have retired as Assistant Director in the National Statistical Office after decades of service in India's statistical system, including NSO, MSME, and the Labour Bureau. Much of my work there was with large datasets, financial records, and systems of accountability. I believe honesty is the foundation of all work, and that what we give returns to us. At SROT, I guide our financial planning with the same precision, building trust and ensuring transparency and sustainability.

If you care about where your shelter comes from, and who builds it, and how, step into SROT. If you believe that architecture can heal, that community is a design process, and that nature is not something we build on, but something we build with, walk with us. If you see the land not just as terrain, but as a teacher, a living system that shapes how we dwell, move, and grow, you are already part of our work.
Questions, comments, suggestions or requests? Everyone is welcome here. You don't need an architecture background, curiosity is enough.
